Photo was taken in Beeville in the 1880's and shows 5 men.  Of the men standing, I only know the one at the left side of the photo and his name is Ira S. Malone (1853-1918), eldest son of Col. F. J. Malone (1826-1891) and Abigail Humphrey Malone (1833-1932) of Beeville.  Ira is my great grandfather and he married Paloma Elizabeth Walton (1861-1949), daughter of D. A. T. Walton (1837-1915) and Amanda McAda Lee Walton (1836-1914), also of Beeville.  I believe that the man seated at the right is a son of D. A. T. Walton but I cannot confirm that. It is scanned from a small tin-type photos which was made in the late 1840's or early 1850's.  It shows T. B. Malone (1828-1900) seated at left and F. J. Malone (1826-1891) prior to them moving from Lafayette County, Mississippi to Texas.  FJM first moved to Caldwell Co. in 1851 and then moved to the coast before settling in Bee County in the late 1870's with his brother.

Regarding the tin-type photo, I have showed it to members of the Malone family living in San Marcos and to one Malone family member living near Mathis (her name is Mary Alice Gorman Meador who is 80 years old and a granddaughter of T. B. Malone).  She seems to think it is them.  I have tried to compare it with other photos I have of both men but in the other photos, both men are considerably older and have full beards.  Despite all this, Mary Alice and I think it is them.  I got this tin-type from my grandmother, Paloma Beulah Malone (1887-1980) who was born in Skidmore and is a granddaughter of F. J. Malone and daughter of Ira S. Malone.
